As part of its focus on becoming the health care Employer of Choice, Tenet has invested millions of dollars to enhance employee training and education through its innovative online training efforts.  This program is the largest distance learning initiative in health care today, providing a broad range of training programs from clinical education to management training and technology training.

The Tenet Educational Network – also known as .edu – offers Tenet employees the leadership development, technical education and training they need to advance their careers.  Tenet’s educational network offers a combination of traditional educator-led courses and computer-based classes delivered via the Internet.  These virtual courses are accessible from any PC with Internet access, including Internet-linked education stations at our hospitals or home computers.

All employees now can take business office and mandatory regulatory courses through .edu.   For example, nurses at Tenet hospitals can fulfill their annual facility requirements (Safety, OSHA, etc.) at their convenience because the courses are available online versus waiting for limited scheduling opportunities with traditional classroom training. 

Additionally, Tenet’s online education partner, HealthStream, has developed critical care, perioperative and perinatal, Emergency Room and oncology courses for nurses wishing to change specialties or to expand their skills within the unit in which they are currently working.
